The rankings, released , show that the UW moved up five spots to No. 16 in , making it third among U.S. public universities. The improvement is largely a result of better teaching and research scores, THE said. Some 891 institutions from around the world were rated on this list.
, meanwhile, placed No. 43, globally, moving up seven places from last year. Engineering includes general engineering; electrical and electronic engineering; mechanical and aerospace engineering; civil engineering; and chemical engineering. There were 1,188 universities ranked in this field.
The subject tables employ the same range of聽聽used in the overall聽; however, the overall methodology is recalibrated for each subject, with the weightings changed to suit the individual fields.
